Renewable Energy in Europe: Responding to Challenges, Developing Trading, Meeting Targets

Thursday 24th and Friday 25th November 2005
 forgotten password ?
The Association of Electricity Producers and Eurelectric are delighted to announce their joint conference ‘Renewable Energy in Europe - Removing Barriers, Developing Trading, Meeting Targets’.

The conference will be an important opportunity for the European renewables community to meet and consider issues such as:

- The initial impact of the European Commission’s report on experiences with support schemes for renewables.
· Have member states created an environment in which renewable electricity can flourish?
· Where do barriers to the development of renewables exist?
· Where and how have barriers been successfully removed?
· How can cross border trading can help meet targets?
· What are financiers looking for in a project proposal?
· What are the prospects of a second Renewables Directive?

Renewable energy specialists from all over Europe, including government officials, regulators, financiers and producers will be brought together by the conference. It will follow shortly after the publication of the European Commission’s report on experiences with support schemes for renewables to date. This is likely to be a time when traditional thinking about European renewable energy policy could be reshaped. Commission speakers have been invited to discuss the thinking and impact behind the report and provide insight into the Commission’s plans for the future.

Why attend?
Delegates will have a rare insight into the future direction of European policy on renewable electricity and the chance to learn from progress made to date. For example, you will hear

· The latest views from the European Commission on its report on support schemes for renewables;
· How barriers to renewables have successfully been removed in member states;
· Case studies on the development of biomass and offshore wind;
· How renewables have been successfully integrated into existing networks and
· How to give your project a better chance of success.

And, of course, the event will give you an excellent opportunity to network with key players in the renewable energy industry across Europe.

The delegate package
The registration fee for the conference covers all conference events. This includes the full conference programme on the 24th and 25th November, the networking reception sponsored by KEMA and the conference dinner on the evening of the 24th November.
